From 1 January 2026 the Department of State says Nigerian nationals are subject to partial suspension of B1/B2 and F, M and J visa issuance, and of immigrant visa issuance, with limited exceptions. It applies to people outside the US on its effective date who did not hold a valid visa then; earlier valid visas are not revoked. Paying the USD 185 fee does not remove this restriction β review the current official notice before paying.
